How Cars See Danger: ADAS Explained

ADAS, or Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, are recently developed technologies designed to keep drivers safe. These systems monitor your car’s surroundings and alert you to potential hazards, often helping you avoid accidents altogether.

Where Are These Features Found?

ADAS Features are located throughout the vehicle, including the front, rear, and sides.

  • Rear: Parking assist sensors detect objects behind you and notify you when you get too close to objects. Backup cameras provide a rearview display and directional lines to help guide your backing.  Some vehicles have the advanced feature of an activate parking assistant to assist you in parking.
  • Sides: Blind spot detection uses indicators on side view mirrors to warn you when another car is in your blind spot. It provides another set of eyes for you in areas that are hard to see.

Why Does ADAS Matter?

These features make driving safer and easier, minimizing risks and helping prevent accidents. Many vehicles today are equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance System features as standard equipment, reflecting the importance of modern driving. These systems must work accurately to keep you and your loved ones safe.
